Challenging and inspiring a wide range of audiences by touring contemporary theatre with a strong international focus, ATC's work is made by bringing together emerging and established artists from many spheres and backgrounds. Working collaboratively with international artists nationally and internationally, ATC tours its theatre everywhere.
During the next phase of development, ATC is developing more collaborative work with international partners, as well as touring extensively abroad, creating a leaner and greener aesthetic which focuses our energy on people.
ATC presents the English language premiere of Roland Schimmelpfennig's tragi-comic tale of globalisation. Telling the interwoven stories of the staff and customers of the Thai/Chinese/Vietnamese restaurant of the title, the production explores migration from East to West as a tapestry of theatrical imagination.
A duo of contemporary plays about love and death.
Crave by Sarah Kane is a startling quartet of anger, desire, frustration and despair. This is a contemporary classic that challenges the notion of what makes a play.
Illusions by Ivan Viripaev is a beguiling comedy of love and death, loyalty and betrayal, truth and iction, hope and despair, that leads us through a hall of mirrors.
Presented as a single evening's programme performed by the same cast, this duo of plays are available together or separately.
A co-production of Actors Touring Company, London, Brageteatret, Drammen, Schauspielhaus Vienna and the Young Vic Theatre, London. David Greig’s play asks how far forgiveness will stretch in the face of atrocity. Featuring local choirs and a soaring soundtrack, The Events tells of tragedy, obsession and our destructive desire to fathom the unfathomable.
ATC strives to enrich the audience's experience of its work by creating innovative online content to illustrate the creative processes, and by attendance at rehearsals where mystery guests are invited to observe and participate in the creative process.
Whilst on tour: post-show discussions at most venues, workshops and masterclasses for students of theatre of all ages.
ATC also works with academic researchers exploring theatre from all angles.
ATC is happy to offer all of these opportunities to international partners with which they are working, as well as being open to exploring the potential of other creative projects with new partners around the world.
