Peter Reder creates intimate, witty and thoughtful work, often based on historical sources. His site-based work has been seen in some of the world’s great museums, galleries, and public buildings, including Somerset House in London, Vancouver Art Gallery, Tretyakov Gallery in Moscow, National Museum of Singapore and Carnegie Museum in Pittsburgh.
2013 will see the premieres of two new works: The Contents of a House at the Brighton Festival and Peter and Valerie, a collaboration with Maltese-Canadian actor/film-maker Valerie Buhagiar at Magnetic North Theatre Festival, Ottawa.
A site-specific promenade performance about place and memory, mixing personal and historical material. A guided tour for the post-modern age, it explores our relationship to the past and present.
City of Dreams A two- to three-week process leading to a performance, during which a group of local participants are led through an exploration of their city – walking, talking, sampling sounds, gathering objects and searching in archives.
Workshops on creating performance from the everyday are also available.
