Louise OrwinA Girl and a Gun

Louise is an award-winning live artist, researcher, writer and performer, and she works with live performance, video and photography. She was also co-founder of Steakhouse Live, an artist-run organisation producing live art and performance. “Demands and deserves to be seen” (Exeunt).


201 Dance CompanySkin

201 Dance Company was founded in 2014 by choreographer and director Andrea Walker, producer Patrick Collier and a team of six urban and contemporary dancers. The company creates dance-theatre exploring controversial issues and social prejudices, and partners with charities to engage audiences. “Skin is another triumph” (Broadway Baby).

Middle ChildAll We Ever Wanted Was Everything

Middle Child is a Hull-based company creating gig theatre that mixes original live music with new writing. Company member Marc Graham was the first winner of The Stage Edinburgh Awards 2017 for his performance in All We Ever Wanted Was Everything at the Roundabout. “Dynamite gig theatre” (The Guardian).

Silent UproarA Super Happy Story (About Feeling Super Sad) 

Hull-based Silent Uproar theatre company creates playful and provocative new work, mixing new writing with devising. It is a Supported Company of Hull Truck Theatre and an Emerging Company of New Diorama Theatre in London. "A mix of wit and low-key emotion that suddenly grips your heart" (The Guardian).

Yolanda MercyQuarter Life Crisis

Yolanda Mercy is an actor and playwright, and is currently Associate Artist at OvalHouse Theatre. She creates highly quality work inspired by the contemporary world. “A new kind of triple-threat performer: superb as a poet, playwright and actor” (Fest).

 

China Plate presents Urielle Klein-MekongoYvette

Urielle is an actor, singer and writer, and this play is produced by China Plate, an independent theatre studio working with artists, venues, festivals and funders to make original, exciting theatre. “A raw and powerful piece” (Theatre Bubble).

 

Ellie DuboisNo Show

Ellie is a performance maker and director of contemporary circus, and is interested in pushing the boundaries of circus in playful and adventurous ways. “A generously funny, ultimately moving display of grit, determination and athletic prowess by five fiesty women” (The Stage).

Rob WardGypsy Queen 

Actor Rob Ward works with Hope Theatre Company, a group of young professionals supporting the work of emerging LGBT artists. The company was created in 2004 to encourage the development of young actors. “The best sort of theatre” (Manchester Evening News).
