With the Royal Court and Rage Productions, Writers Bloc aims to develop and showcase Indian playwrights
The Royal Court leads workshops with young playwrights and supports their new work, leading to a festival of new Indian plays for Indian audiences produced by Rage. As a result of the last Writers' Bloc, the Royal Court commissioned a UK production of Abhishek Majumdar's The Djinns of Eidgah, set in the conflict in Kashmir. This time, we extend the reach of the project, working with the Royal Court for a year to train Indian playwrights to lead workshops in a wider range of towns and cities across India.
