Forest Fringe in Korea, Japan and China

In March 2015, Forest Fringe staged a Microfestival as part of Festival Bo:m in Korea which included performances and presentations from Andy Field, Abigail Conway, Tania EL Khoury, Richard Dedomenici and Action Hero.

Between June and September, Forest Fringe delivered a major 4-week residency project in collaboration with 21st Century Museum of Contemporary Art in Kanazawa, Japan. As part of the residency, Action Hero, Nic Green, Scottee and Ira Brand each worked in a different small gallery or arts space in the city and created work with local artists.

But the journey did not end there! During June and July, Forest Fringe went on a three-city Microfestival tour, taking in Beijing, Shanghai and Guangzhou. Andy Field and Tim Etchell’s were accompanied by Richard Dedomenici, Abigail Conway, Hunt & Darton, Neil Callaghan and Simone Kenyon who all worked in gallery spaces in each of the cities.

What next for Forest Fringe? Plans are under way for a tour of Malaysia later this year so watch this space…

Forest Fringe's tour of Korea, Japan and China was supported by the British Council.
